Sushi at a GREAT price? And affordable Habachi? Count me in.

My partner and I had to visit OBA after reading reviews on Yelp. And, as usual, Yelp steered us in the right direction. When you walk in, you are greeted with two simple menus on the boards- sushi and habachi. If you grab one of their menus then you will see a more extensive list of sushi rolls, plus soups, sides, etc. This is a takeout restaurant (but there is seating available) and the prices reflect that- they are relatively cheap. When we went there was an additional 20% off sushi rolls- I was excited by that! I ordered two sushi rolls and miso soup, and he ordered the beef habachi.

The miso soup that came out was enormous- big container filled to the brim with miso soup! I've never had a restaurant serve me anywhere near that much miso, regrettably. But here it was!

Next came the sushi rolls. Both delicious and right on target. And the prices! Have I mentioned the prices? ;)

The beef habachi was a large portion and also good bang for the buck. Check this place out, it is a must.

We have driven by this place so many times and never tried them. Today we stopped on a whim and were so happy we did!
The restaurant looks super tiny in the photos, but there's actually seating for about 20-25 people. Folks are very friendly, and ordering is easy. This is an "express" place, not a sit down, so don't expect fancy. That being said, our combos were delivered to our table on nice platters. :-)
All the fish we tried was fresh and prepared perfectly. Maki rolls were delicious. Spicy tuna and salmon were perfect. We tried one we had never seen before- avocado peanut. It was interesting and very good.
I'm certain we'll be back--perhaps to try the neat ice cream concoctions!

I really wanted to give this place a higher rating because the guys working the place were really nice and friendly but the fish just did not taste fresh.

My husband and I ordered 3 different rolls to try a little bit of everything but the raw fish standard for sushi was just average/slightly below. We got the Yellowtail Scallion, Eel and Avocado, and Spicy Salmon roll. I don't think what we got was actually yellowtail. It was kind of fishy and not a clean white color like how yellowtail should be. The other 2 rolls were good but the yellowtail roll left such a fishy taste in my mouth, I couldn't fully enjoy the other rolls. These were a great deal though because 3 rolls came to be about $10. You sure get what you pay for.

My brother in law got the Crazy Roll and that was more than $12. He and my husband loved it. I think it's pretty hard to mess something up when it's deep fried and looked very pretty.

Overall you get what you pay for. I would stick with the cooked rolls if I were to come here again.

Stopped in here around 2pm on a Saturday afternoon and the place was completely empty. Sushi is my favorite go to food because it's healthy and delicious (usually) but if a place doesn't have brown rice, I'll skip it, that's my one stipulation. The other sushi joint in Geneva didn't use brown rice so OBA Express was it. Just to be clear, calling this place a Hibachi Restaurant is entirely unfair if you're thinking you're going to walk into the kind of restaurant that has Hibachi for entertainment (birthday parties, etc.) It's by no means that kind of place. This place is wildly casual, nothing fancy about it, tables and chairs, no decor, what you see is what you get, hence the word express.

As mentioned there was not another soul in the place and the two employees were sitting back in chairs straight chilling behind the counter when we arrived, however the second we approached the counter, the staff was great. You order your food at the counter and they bring it out to you at the tables. We ordered 6 rolls between the two of us, edamame, two garden salads, one miso soup and a Snapple with the total coming to about $36. They had a good lunch deal for three rolls but the rolls didn't come with a soup or salad.

The garden salads came out quickly, iceberg lettuce and that was all you got. The lettuce was SOPPING wet with water. So initially it was nice to see they wash their lettuce but there was literally half an inch of water in the salad bowl and it would have been nice if they drained the lettuce after washing because it was messy to eat and the dressing literally slid right off the lettuce into the bottom of the bowl. The dressing was not what I'd expected, but it was tasty, more of a honey mustard vinaigrette, absolutely no carrot-ginger flavors like you'd think. Still good. The edamame was tasty too, kind of tasted buttery so I'm not sure if they soak the beans in butter prior to serving or what, hope not because that kind of takes away from the whole idea of ordering healthily. Maybe the beans were just that good though.

The sushi was delish! I went with tuna avocado, salmon cucumber and yellowtail scallion and they were all really good and fresh. They served soy sauce in a to go container and wished I had a picture of the amount they gave us but it filled about 1/4 of the container. Didn't like that it was indicated whether the soy sauce was low-sodium and/or gluten free but after one taste it was clear this was regular soy sauce, not low sodium. Everything is served in to go containers, hence the word express. Overall this place was exactly what we needed. There were some things I    didn't like, like the bathroom door was the dirtiest thing I've ever seen and it's a restaurant, where you eat, so when I see something like that, it makes me think the place doesn't take pride in cleanliness or upkeep, but the sushi tasted fresh so it was good for me.

Decent food its actually pretty good and quality but on occasion you get a chewy chunk sometimes even a bone in the hibachi chicken but I would eat here again.
